Montana's secret ski haven

The crowd:   expect to meet many people from the South and the New England. There seems to be an absence of Californians which I believe will change once the direct flight from LAX to Bozeman (Montana) opens: February, 2005.  

The locals are kind smalltown people.   They are helpful, friendly and always willing to offer a hand.   The largest city next to Big Sky is Bozeman which has 30,000 people.   For a true local experience, visit the Black Bear Bar, located at the base of the mountain.

The mountain has mainly skiers, courteous ones I might add.   At many resorts, snowboarders have crashed into me because they don't look where they are going.   Many times they are out of control.   Escape the California snowboarder crowd or the Mammoth hot-shot skiers.

Celebrity: The likes of Bill Gates and Jack Kemp own property in Big Sky. Miles away from the resort, A River Runs Through it was filmed (starring Brad Pitt and Robert Redford).
