Montana's secret ski haven
Entertainment & Nightlife

Big Sky's first major event of the season, RUST, attracted over 500 people to the Mountain Village Plaza.   The night featured thumping DJ beats, new school rail slides, giant fire-pits culminating to a finale of explosive ski and snowboard rail tricks under the red and green glow of fireworks high overhead.

The event both kicked off the new events schedule and was an announcement of Big Sky's improved terrain park brought to the resort by park designer, Joe Pope and his crew.   The newest rails were temporarily installed in the plaza area along with scaffolding for the drop-in for a one-hour jam session.   Ten local skiers and ten riders were selected to participate in the rail jam, including Volkl pro Dylan Hood and local favorite rider Shane Stallings.

Members of Big Sky's new MSU Freeride Team completed the rest of the talent spinning and landing tricks from two flat down rails and a flat-down-flat fun box illuminated with lights.
