Las Vegas, NV

Enter a maharaja's palace and dine like you are part of the royal family. For traditional four star Indian cuisine, Gaylord's is definitely your best bet. Located inside the Rio Hotel and Casino, Gaylord's is a favorite amongst locals and international travelers.

Ambiance: Listen to tranquil zen-like indian music in the background. Soothing strings put you in relaxation mode, an escape for the busy Las Vegas casinos. This is a golden paradise, the center of opulence and luxury. Enter Gaylord's under doric columns fit for a king. Golden vaulted framed ceilings are above you while a grand chandelier is the centerpiece of the room. The room is decorated by sandblasted windows, Indian artwork and flying carpets.

The Crowd: The noise level is low so Gaylord's tends to attract many businessmen who like to close deals. You will see couples on their romantic dates and an eclectic mix of tourists.

Food: traditional Indian Cuisine

Try the chicken samosa--a deepfried tender treat, lightly spiced. Have a side dish of deep fried vegetables, lightly breaded with a thin tender crunch.

Kima naan (Indian bread) is like a flat breaded sandwich with a slice of spiced lamb. Dip this in the chicken tikka masala for a wonderful mix of tastes. Out of all of their naans, this one is highly recommended, their best.

Tandori chicken is brough out on a smoking hot plate. It has quite the presentation and plus, it tastes absolutely delicious, not to try like many Indian restaurants.

Drinks: full bar and wine selection

Interesting Tidbits: The tandori chicken is marinated for 12 hours.

Average Price Range: $20-$50 a person
