review: bluetooth headset

Sony Ericsson's HBH-200 breaks all the boundaries when it comes to wireless Bluetooth technology.

by Nick Benjamin

The ever-popular wireless Bluetooth headset has become a staple in the techie's cell phone entourage. Limited by design, the average Bluetooth headset slightly resembles a tiny satellite hanging from one's ear. The conventional Bluetooth headset is composed of a boom-mic attached to an earpiece - generally uncomfortable, awkward, and makes you look like a cyborg. The HBH-200 slightly resembles a common cell phone headset by having a corded earpiece attached to the main unit. With an external caller ID, a few buttons, and a simple, yet feature-packed menu, the HBH-200 doesn't follow the traditional Bluetooth headset design.

The external, 12-digit lcd display allows you to view who's calling before you pick up. The menu interface is extremely easy to navigate making customization of the HBH-200 a piece of cake. Pairing your headset with your Bluetooth enabled phone takes a matter of minutes and poses no problems. Volume control and voice activated dialing are all easily accessible through the three external buttons located conveniently on the sides of the headset.
