Montana's secret ski haven
Heard it from a Local
by Liz Welles As a skier of 24 years, I'm always looking for terrain that will challenge me. Originally from Duluth, Minnesota, I have raced for the University of Michigan. I like Big Sky's huge slopes. There is room for everybody! The snow has to travel across a couple of states to get here so by the time it arrives, a dry light powder falls onto Big Sky. I hate dealing with Tahoe cement.
There is so much to do at Big Sky. It is an outdoorsman's paradise! In the winter, there is snowmobiling at Yellowstone and guided ski tours of the back country. Life revolves around the resort and everyone wants to get out to the slopes to drink and hang out with friends. The locals are a laid back non-aggressive camaraderie. Everyone is here to have a great time!
