Technology: Review

iCarPlay

by Monster Cable

price: $69.95

availability: monstercable.com

Function

iCarPlay connects your ipod to the radio frequency in your car radio. Plug iCarPlay into your cigarette adapter then plug it into your ipod. Select a radio frequency 88.1 to 89.5 (8 channels) with iCarPlay, then tune your radio to it. Press play on your ipod.

FM Radio Transmitter

This is the best transmitter by far. Monster Cable is known for its high quality products and iCarPlay definitely holds up its reputation. I have tried many FM radio transmitters for connecting various audio devices and none have worked to my satisfaction. iCarPlay transmits high audio quality, almost as good as CD quality.

Power Supply

iCarPlay also charges your ipod so you do not need to worry about power. When the battery is fully charged, monster charges your ipod with a trickle setting. This makes sure your battery does not get overcharged. Monster Cable thinks of everything!

Solution

For those without a tape deck, iCarPlay is the solution.

Traveling in between cities

On my drive from San Francisco to Los Angeles (400 miles), I had to change the radio frequency once. This is not bad considering I had no cd's to change and over ten hours of music on my ipod. If you stay in one city, you never need to change the radio frequency.

Bottom Line

If you have an iPod and a car with a radio, you need iCarPlay.
