Lifestyle: Restaurant Review

Zingari Ristorante

An exquisite memorable experience with classic Italian cuisine

By David Lee

Upon entering Zingari Ristorante, one will notice the tranquil jazz sounds in the background and classic dining room.   The voices of Frank Sinatra, Billie Holliday and singers from past eras bring a magical enchantment to your dining experience.   A romantic peaceful ambiance is created that is reminiscent of a simpler era of a slow lifestyle, an escape from tremors of busy city life.   Zingari brings the best of Italy to San Francisco.

Gracious service and hospitality await you as you enter the restaurant.   The waiter offers you champagne and recommend wine selections.   Start off with calamari fritto with tartar sauce. This appetizer is a balanced mixture of fried scallops, squid and calamari.   Subtle tastes make it a favorite amongst customers.

Zingari is known for its superb salads. Salad secondi consists of goat cheese and vinagrette topped with golden beets.   This combination melts in your mouth with a sensational smooth texture. Nuts add an unexpected but complementary crunch to the creamy flavor.   Insalata Di Carciofini has a bold flavor consisting of blue cheese, fennel, leaving a sweet minty aftertaste.

Feast on osso bucco pincinhiale (wild boar).   This traditional Italian dish is a tender cut of pork that is roasted to perfection.   Accompanied with eggplant risotto, it gives a mild spicy flavor.   Linguine con vongole has a luscious garlic flavor.   Topped with the finest clams, these noodles have a pleasant seafood taste.

This is the perfect place to take your special someone for a romantic experience.   If you can't go to Italy, Zingari Ristorante is around the corner.   Be treated like a Roman Emperor   as you are waited on hand and foot.
